Alishah E. Bhimani
About
Originally from Long Island, Alishah attended college at the State University of New York at Geneseo, where she majored in both Political Science and International Relations. Following college, she attended Albany Law School, where she was a finalist in the Donna Jo Morse Negotiations Competition and graduated magna cum laude.
Alishah joined the firm as a law clerk during her second year of law school. Since joining the firm, Alishah has discovered her passion for criminal defense and fighting for all those who face challenges in their personal and professional lives. As an associate with Hacker Murphy, her practice focuses exclusively on litigation, including representing plaintiffs and defendants in New York State Supreme Court, plaintiffs in civil rights actions under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 in federal court, and defendants in criminal litigation in both federal and state courts.
In addition to practicing law, Alishah is an accomplished equestrian and, in her spare time, she cares for her horse, Theo, and trains young horses. Alishah is fluent in Spanish and loves to travel. She credits her mother and father, who were born in Colombia and Tanzania, respectively, with her love of learning about new cultures.
